Your body is taken over by stress hormones. Alert tunnel vision. Time passage feels different. You shut down pain perception. Pain is a subjective state. Guys in battle, lose a leg and feel nary a tingle in the stump. Or, if you’re harder core than that like I am, you twist your ankle in a soccer game and don’t even notice. I have some bad news, guys. My Aunt Pauline died and I need to be with my family this weekend so I won’t be able to make it to Balticon. I also might not be able to post a new Ask Soccergirl this coming Monday.
