The Dawn and Drew Barn Foosball championships: Soccergirl VS. Nintendofreak

“What is it about our reflected self that it plays by such counterintuitive rules?”

According to a mind blowing puzzle of an article from the science times, I’m twice as big as I thought! So, actually, 300 won’t be my last episode. It’ll be the end of an era in which Soccergirl, Inc. is my everything. The new show is still coming and that’ll be my focus from 300 on but I just can’t kill my baby. So, I’ll still post SG, Inc. episodes when my little heart desires, maybe once every few weeks or so. You better all stay subscribed and shit. Sorry for the confusion. I feel so much better. A stupid couple of asshole puke tunes named Keith and the Girl stabbed a knife into my honest bleeding heart for the purposes of entertainment. Thanks guys. I wrote a teeny little song about it. Ryan has a troubling passenger on his left nut. If you have suggestions for how he might proceed, please comment below. We’re going to see Dawn and Drew again and I’m learning how to spin fire. Thank you, me stinkin’ hearties, for all the wonderful audio comments. One love!

Adam Savage from The Mythbusters on making a dodo skeleton out of sculpey, among other things. Myth busted: flamingos aren’t into butt play. Myth busted: spoon bending is magic. Mythbuster supreme: James Randi.

Featuring an all star cast, including: Adam Savage, Richard Wiseman, James Randi, Phil Plait, and Hal Bidlack.

I’m trying out a larger video file. Let me know how it works out!

    07.02.08 SG #287 Straitjacket Escape

Before psychoanalysis and psychiatric medications, mental health was largely a mystery. Doctors didn’t know how to treat the symptoms of disorders such as schizophrenia and depression and, freaked out by the thrashing of the seemingly incurable, they figured on certain cruelish devices for containment. The straitjacket is one of these. At the height of its use, the straitjacket was considered more humane than classical bonds made of ropes or chains. How quaint.

During The Amazing Meeting 6 in Las Vegas, I hung out with a dashing Mr. Danger Nate, the Guinness record holder for straitjacket escape. Several drinks later, I weaseled out a demonstration.

Coming up next time: Adam Savage from The Mythbusters!
See you after Dawn-a-pa-Drewza-two-za! (We’ll be back on Monday. Email patience is totally appreciated!)

    Shout Outs, Show Notes, Ephemera:

  • Danger Nate’s Myspace page
  • Soccergirl’s video for J.C. Hutchins’s Obsidian project
  • – Everyone else I filmed at TAM 6 will be honored in a video soon. Stay tuned!
