I am writing to ask for your help. Soccergirl, Incorporated has been
nominated for a People’s Choice Podcast Award. The competition is
fierce and they are my friends (probably yours too). Because of this
it is with a very important cause in mind that I ask you to cast your
vote for SG, inc. As much as I love the other podcasts who were
nominated, there isn’t a one that has really focussed on a consistent
cause in the hopes of effecting real social and cultural change. That
is, except for Soccergirl, Incorporated.

“They’d love to sponsor Soccergirl, but she’ll cover her nipples right?”

I’ve been campaigning in support of women’s nipples since the very
beginning. I think this is one of the most underrepresented and
blatant examples of how women and women’s sexuality continue to be
repressed in America (and many other supposedly free places) EVERY
DAY, and it happens EVERYWHERE. Sure, we got the vote, but a culture
with such an in-your-face nipple double standard is far from achieving
any real equality.

So, it is with this cause in mind (and other social causes that
increased media attention will allow me to champion) that I ask for
your vote in the “Mature” category at podcastawards.com. You can vote
once a day (more than that and your vote gets tossed). Remember to
check for the vote confirmation in your email.
